For those of us who find ourselves stuck in an office when we'd prefer to be on the water, I thought somewhere to share links to some awesome online kayak footage might help.

Here's a great one to get us started. It's video footage of the new Epic V12 Surf ski being tested by some of the best in the world.

You can watch it on the Internet from this site: blip.tv/file/1882894/

or

You can download the video file from this site globalsurfski.se/2009/03/15/epic-v12-surfski/
It's a big file (80MB) and you will probably need to convert it to a format Windows will recognise. Let me know if you need a hand.

Have fun!

Scott sold one of the V12's to a paddling mate (and club member) Tom - look forward to seeing Tom fly past at the time trials come the warmer weather!

Here's another awesome flat water flick:

Anna Hemmings, the main focus on the clip above, has been worl champ at least 3 times and at least one of those was after being taken out by Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS). If you're interested in stories of great triumph against all odds, her's is definitely worth a look.

Her web site is: www.annahemmings.co.uk/index.asp

Hope you enjoy!

Kind regards,

Justin.

I took this one with my phone camera (sorry about the average quality) on Yerrabi Pond this morning. This is why I love paddling the mornings.

Rather than posting a link to another video clip this week, I figured I'd post a link to the site for some serious Kimi adeventurers - Adventure Philosophy: www.adventurephilosophy.com/

I first heard of these guys when I was given their book "Unclaimed Coast" as a gift. They are nothing short of amazing. Whether or not you agree with the concept of leaving young families to challenge some of the most amazing kayaking conditions in the world, you will find yourself drawn to the stories, photos and video footage these guys have to share.

If you really want to be inspired, learn something while you're at it, and have an interesting conversation starter on the coffee table, I highly recommend a look at their book Unclaimed Coast as well.

Hope everyone's having a great week and I'll catch you soon.

Kind regards,

Justin.

Watching this one makes me stare at the screen in awe. I have just received my new kayak and am treating it with kit gloves while I try and figure out how to stay upright on flat water. These dudes are UNREAL!!!! Hope you enjoy.

[I highly recommend pressing the HQ button on the bottom right - makes it a higher quality video]

So I've done flat water racing and marathons, white water, ocean kayaks (book) and skis, and a few rolls. Here's a few pics my mates and I have taken while out kayak fishing - just for something different. Everything in these photos was alive at the end of the day.

Hope you enjoy!

Has anyone looked into the Yukon River Quest - the looooongest anual canoe race in the world - 1000 miles

There are so many cool video clips covering different aspects of the race I wasn't sure which ones to post. The first three here are from the same mob over three days and are more informative. The last one just shows how awesome one of the fast, choppy sections is.

Enjoy.
