Our first training session on flat water was on Yerrabi Pond prior to the Birthday Party.
James and I put Darryl through a rigorous 90 minutes on the water.
After time trials it was a quick run home for some lunch and a change of kayaks before heading out to the Murrumbidgee and conducting a run from Cotter to Uriarra.
This is a 3 hour run with many easy rapids, a few play small play spots and lots of flat water.
At least by the end of the day Darryl and Pete were able to pick some lines through the rapids and bounce off any rocks that got in their way.
Scott squeezed himself into an EZG50 somehow and showed some skills on the river. Pete stayed upright but pulled a few faces when hitting some of the rocks in the river. Will had a good leisurely run down the river and stopped to play on anything he could.
Colin and Darryl had a quick swim on some technical stages. Darryl tried to get stuck a few more times and pulled off a great roll while learning to ferry glide through some swift water. I just bounced along in the SCUD and kept a good eye on the group.
Everyone had a good run. No photos though.
A really good run for novices on grade 2 water.
Next runs if the water levels remain will be from Point Hutt to Pine Island in the little boats or the same run with the Skis and DRR.
