-
been BGCC members for at least 3 months
-
to have shown themselves to be responsible club members with a willingness to assist in the smooth running of the club
-
to attend a general club meeting to introduce themselves to members of the committee and plead their case for the need of a key
Initial deposit is $30, plus an annual fee of $25 (total of $55 for the first year)
Members who return their shed key will be reimbursed $30.
Member's Extra
For those BGCC members who wish to use a boat stored in the Club Shed on a reasonably frequent basis - 12 or more times per year. This is for both those members who don't own their own boat and use club boats on a regular basis and for those members who have been fortunate enough to obtain a space in the club shed to rack their boat. The fee is $110 p.a. Students enjoy the reduced rates of $65 for 1 year. BGCC members wishing to rack their boats in the club shed need to apply to the boat captain for a placement or a place on the waiting list.
There will be no extra charge for those club members who use club boats on a less frequent basis. People who use the club's doubles for races are also exempted from this fee.
Reimbursement on a pro-rata basis will be applied to those who either stop using club boats or who remove their private boats before the end of the financial year.

BGCC provides a choice of membership categories, as listed on the membership form: Adult Member; Junior Member; Family Member; Trial Member; and Single Event Member. Juniors aged under 12 years at 1st January 2011 will be covered by their parent's membership if they join as a Family. The Junior category is for those under 18 years on 1st January 2011.
For those BGCC members who wish to compete in any events outside the Paddle NSW jurisdiction (e.g., Australian Championships) will need to take out Premium Membership with PNSWI. For those BGCC members wishing to compete only in PNSWI events or local BGCC events, then Standard PNSWI memberhsip is sufficient.
Trial Membership is for the potential paddler who wishes to trial the sport, for a maximum of 3 sessions, before they need to join PNSWI. After three sessons, the paddler must decide to either join PNSWI and BGCC, or move on to another sport.
Single Event Member is provided for people wishing to take part in a single event (such as the Burley Griffin Bash, a Canoe Polo competition or a time trial). This membership is only available for a single event, after which it expires and the person would be required to become a trial or full member if they want to continue paddling with the BGCC. |

Yes. However the person will need to decide whether to become a single event member (E01) or a trail member (T01, T02 or T03). They will also need to be vetted by a club coach so they can be helped to choose an appropriate boat and shown how to safely use it. |
