Marathon Race weekend, 25th and 26th February, 2012
All BGCC members are invited to take part in our weekend of local marathon races and evening of socialising at Molonglo Reach with our annual Spit Roast by the River.
If you want to trial the PNSW Marathon 9 Series, this is your chance to give it a go on Saturday 25th February; without having to travel interstate. There is the choice of distances of 10, 15 or 20 km, all paddled on a loop course on the Molonglo River from Molonglo Reach.
Then on the evening of 25th February, with eating starting at 6 p.m., we will have our Spit Roast by the River, so all can have a night off from cooking and be ready for the 36th Burley Griffin Bash and Mini-Bash races on Sunday 26th February. Paddling distances for the Mini-Bash go from 2 to 5 km for juniors and novice paddlers and 14 km for those not up to the full Burley Griffin Bash distance of 30 km. For the first time in many years the perpetual trophies have been resurrected and polished up ready to have new heroes' names inscribed on them.
